When I have budgeting consultations, I often hear how stressful budgeting is.
It’s usually because people are trying to master everything at once.
It may help for some, but definitely not all! If you are cutting expenses or trying to monitor your expenses, focusing on one to three categories at a time may be more impactful. It could be eating out, groceries and gas; or eating out and groceries, or entertainment.
Focusing on specific categories prior to moving on to the next is a bit less stressful and allows you to pinpoint how you can reduce in each category prior to moving on to the next.
